The New Two
Two functions describe us.
Everything we live for begins with these two mandates.
Going out.
The outward mission focus of Kainos is a specific calling to share the good news of a happy God! It manifests in many ways and forms according to the holy members of the body of Christ. Each new creation shows its creator's nature in perfect and unique ways. Kainos is no different. Each member is called out. They have found everything their hearts desired in the person of Jesus. Coming in.
We are to feed and be fed. The good Shepherd left us with a mandate to feed each other. Finding a place of quiet and rest is equally paired with the mission to go out. Kainos has found vision to "come in" according to the biblical example of Moses in the tabernacle. Moses and the nation of Israel would come in to the presence of the Lord at the tabernacle of meeting before going out to war among other things. They would hear the Lord and be with the Lord and receive his instruction for battle. This example is the beginning of the "retreats" concept at Kainos. The new covenant in Jesus' blood has revealed that we are continually in his presence. We are to be "present" to him in relationship as he has eternally come to dwell with us. We have found that quiet, rest, and availability to Him--the lover of our souls-- is the only way the body of Christ exists in radiance.
